This document explains how we will communicate effectively with internal and external audiences to encourage healthy lifestyles, promote access to services and inform the public how we are investing taxpayers' money in high-quality services that offer value for money. The Strategy also describes how we will engage and involve people, including seldom-heard groups, in shaping healthcare services.

The medicines management documents on this site, including the Local Health Economy Formulary, have been transferred to a new website maintained by the Medicines Management Team (MMT) hosted by NHS Eastern Cheshire, South Cheshire and Vale Royal CCGs. The web address is www.centralandeasterncheshireMMT.nhs.uk.

The MMT supports the CCGs in the commissioning of services that make best use of medicines. In addition, pharmacists and technicians work closely with general practices and acute trust clinicians to:

  • Promote the cost-effective use of medicines and reduction of medicines-related waste
  • Develop and maintain the Local Health Economy Formulary
  • Maintain control of primary care prescribing costs to manage growth and remain within the allocated budget.
  • Develop systems for managing the use of High Cost Drugs
  • Implement projects/actions to optimise the use of medicines to improve outcomes, enhance patient safety and improve capacity within the local health economy
  • Support general practice with local prescribing initiatives
  • Produce clinical and operational guidelines, policies, pathways, newsletters and other resources relevant to prescribing
  • Develop enhanced services with Community Pharmacy e.g. Think Pharmacy Minor Ailments Service.

 Children and Young People's Services

The interactive documents at the links below were developed with partners to transform two vital services for children and young people.

Joining Up describes plans to improve services for young people with eating disorders while Your Mind Matters sets out proposals to strengthen young people's mental health services. The interactive documents were written in consultation with students from Wilmslow High School and are intended specifically for young people. The publications ae based on detailed, formal plans approved by NHS England.

The commitments in Joining Up will be delivered by the CCG in partnership with NHS South Cheshire, Vale RoyalWest Cheshire and Wirral CCGs while the actions in Your Mind Matters are the responsibility of the CCG and NHS South Cheshire CCG.
