North West Volunteer Strategy Event

In order to see how other organisations managed and recruited volunteers, Julia Hulland – Vernon, our engagement and participation officer, attended the free North West Volunteer Strategy Event on 9 July 2018. This event was held following on from the success of an event at Whiston Hospital in December 2017.

Speaking Up Speaking Out (SUSO) - Learning Disabilities Beyond Barriers

We were invited to help out at an event at Macclesfield Town Hall on Sunday 24 June 2018 for a charity based in Macclesfield called Speaking Up Speaking Out (SUSO). The event was a thought provoking and uplifting day which explored the barriers faced by adults with learning disabilities every day. It also highlighted ways in which the barriers could be overcome.

Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) Summer Partnership Picnic focuses on working together

On a hot mid summer’s day on 21st June SEND Partnerships hosted by Cheshire East Council held their SEND Summer Partnership Picnic at Congleton Town Hall. The event, attended by around 100 children, young people, parents, carers and professionals aimed to develop some co-production principles following feedback from our SEND inspection earlier this year.
